If the water levels at the Byleddet/Søskovvej measuring station continue to rise overnight we’ll see Fiskeplads go under which is a key indicator to the start of a new flooding event at Brabrandstien.
When Fiskeplads goes under and water levels continue to rise then the lowest walking and cycle paths closest to the waters edge start to be impacted during high tides. The increased water levels in Årslev Engsø and Brabrand Sø start affecting the Åby measuring station closer to Aarhus before finally get to Århus Havn.
The lowest walking and cycle paths closest to the waters edge along Brabrandstien are:
- Holmbækvej (walking path)
- Byleddet / Søskovvej (bicycle path)
- Stadevej
- Andebroen to Viby Ringvej
- De Tre Broer to Viby Ringvej
- Åbrinkvej to De Tre Broer
With that being said, “der er ingen ko på isen”. Today the Byleddet/Søskovvej measuring station is showing 103cm with a slow rise in water levels over the past few days, in Jan 2015 that was 170cm and it happened quick!
Here’s some photos from today along Brabrandstien!
